Those vids look like exactly what is needed. It would be great to have access to something like that - it's a major missing component in realistic fluids atm. Foam always looks like crap when its just a texture or plain white particles etc. (at least when seen up close, works fine for distant shots)

These Videos are from 2008;) I guess NL should pay more attention on Siggraph Papers;)

Well, though be it not technically accurate in a Maxwell-way, the Phoenix FD 3 solutions on foam and bubbles looks very appealing to me.

some Phoenix FD examples:

There is a script/sample on oddmood.com (lab:Cell based Division), that shows Cell Division inside RealFlow. Maybe something like this approach could also be used to simulate foam in close-ups.

For now I don't have reasonable solution on this, really hope a "friend" can script something in python to work in RF soon..

cheers

Aniki

I'm pretty sure that NL is paying attention :) If it's not in there already it's likely to be a very non-trivial problem integrating that kind of thing.

The latter two beer sims do look pretty good. I've seen a lot of the Phoenix stuff before and have been in contact with the developer too. It is likely the best option currently available, but unfortunately cannot be integrated with Maxwell.

The cell division looks very cool. That could get you a long way too.

Thanks for the input!

Here is a c4d file and animation copying a bubble effect from houdini;

Hm, the idea is simple, yet doesn't inherit the nice deformations the bubbles have bouncing off others or even merging. Besides the geometries are mostly intersecting which Maxwell won't like;)

In this thread there is a nice render with lots of intersecting bubbles, coating OR ags is fine with intersection, only with emitters its crucial, and with sss preferable to avoid.
