Hi there

got a question regarding the Bush radio rendering. I watched the teardown video and it seems that additional lighting was added after making cornerpinning corrections (presumably in PSD). So you added these with HDR retouching in PSD? All in all there are how many 3D lights? 3?

Cheers,
Rogurt

Hi Rogurt. There were 4 lights in the 3D scene. Additional lighting tweaks were just done by hand in Photoshop. I don't remember offhand exactly what I did in that image, but I often finesse lighting that way.

Did you get an automated workflow for the rock texture maps? they look great, rockgen, a plug for cinema barely works as far as I can tell, whats this plug called? - does it make the base maps too? Thanks.

Thanks very much Dario

@Eric: there's a link on my blog post for the image that directs you to the tutorial for making the rocks. It's a Max technique, but it is an approach that I am sure can be replicated in any software - but it's not a plug in. The maps were made by hand, but it was just my preference in this case. It would be pretty simple to make a handful of seamless textures to get a kit together though.
