Hi

Please let me know if you are experiencing the same before I report this as a bug.

Just installed Maya Plugin 2.6.23 for OSx
Maya 2011 crashes every single time the plugin is launched.
Saved scenes with Maxwell loaded in them fail to open.

Make sure you also upgrade Maxwell to its latest version.

You're right!
Thanks.

Updated Maxwell.

FIRE needs to be loaded first in an empty scene or a scene with all objects hidden.
If there are any objects visible Maya crashes.
Strange
And oh...rendering a single frame is only possible via the Batch Render command.
Specifying Maxwell as the renderer then clicking the Render (single frame) button does nothing.

Bad luck...maybe I need to get some sleep.

I don't understand how any of these errors could occur. Try downloading and installing the plug-in again, maybe the file you got was corrupted (make sure Maya is not running when you run the installer).

Hi Mihnea

See for yourself..I've just uploaded the screencast to youtube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TH4bXpNgfHA

First I start Maya scene, load plugin, create object then attempt to start FIRE...Maya crashes
Next I start Maya but this time start FIRE first....all is fine

By the way after re-installing the failure to start render I mentioned above is now resolved but
FIRE problem persists.

Bye

Ok, I've seen the video, but I still can't reproduce the crash here. Please follow the instructions on this page to locate the crash log written by Maya and send that file to me at mihnea.balta@gmail.com.
