Some trick is that

Image

Here is my scene.

I used multilight with physicall sky(sun) and sphere(HDRI illumination)

The hole of the sphere is for the direct sunlight.

HDRI illumination only

physical sky/sun only

multilight enabled with hdri + phy.sun

Doesn't vray allow mixing lighting types ? vray sun with hdr etc etc ?
Gonna ask yet again for phys. sun plus hdr lighting....
after countless experiments I find 1.7 mixed type light gives a superior result to 2.5.1

A mix option would be great!

This combined with the ability to soften the phys sun's shadows, would be even better.

Hi all,
I`m going to apologize first for what I´m about to say...

(Rant mode ON)
Why the h... this option to have separate sun from physical sky, sky dome and IBL was take it away, I´ve spent all day dealing with this #@!! limitation in order to get nice ilum for my project, how hard is to get ilum from an hdr and the sun at the same time?. Some of us don´t have the superduper photoshop version to "make" our own custom sunlight in one hdr found in internet, I know that some people are going to say that now because Ver 2.0 it can produce hard shadows from an hdr image... but honestly how many percentage hdr you can even buy or find for free that have the "perfect fit" for the Maxwellrender?. No matter how much FIRE or i12 core you have if you have to deal with changing backgrounds, making an emitter and calculating intensity and so on, so on, or making a huge sphere and delete a polygon just because we don¨t have anymore the sun separate from sky, dome, etc.
And I don´t want to have to wait until V3 is out for this feature that we had before.
(Rant mode OFF)

So please, as a loyal customer please NextLimit team if is possible that we can get this back again?
Sorry again for the bad words, but I had to vent my frustration with this limitation.

Cheers
JC
