Using MaxwellMenuBranch.cfg and 2.5.4 maxwell.plugin (on either LW10 or LW9.6, MacUB), I cannot figure out how to activate the Maxwell Fire preview, as I see no command to do so. The notes for 2.5.4 explicitly suggest Fire support was integrated, but I'll be darned if I can see how, and even issuing a render just brings up Maxwell app with the scene.

Can someone explain how to activate the Maxwell Fire preview within Lightwave with the latest plugin?

BTW, pressing the "Plugin Manual" button on MacUB doesn't appear to do anything.

Thanks!

The command for opening the FIRE window is called "MaxwellInteractive", but you may need to re-add the plug-in to make it show up. After you do that, importing the menu cfg should create a button called "FIRE" at the bottom of the Maxwell group.

The plug-in manual button will try to open the file "maxwellrender_v2 for lightwave_plugin_help.pdf" from the "manual" subdirectory inside the Maxwell installation directory. Can you check if you have that file?

Deleting it, and then re-adding it made the FIRE menu item appear. Thanks!

Nope, no such file. How should that file have reached that location on Mac installs? It doesn't appear to have on mine.

The Maxwell installer should contain the manuals for all the plug-ins. Maybe something went wrong when 2.5 was packaged and the manual wasn't included, we'll look into it. In the mean time, you can download the manual from this link: http://think.maxwellrender.com/docs/max ... manual.pdf, rename it to "maxwellrender_v2 for lightwave_plugin_help.pdf", place it in that directory, and the plug-in will find it.

Done, and fixed. Thanks!

My MW2.5 install contains only the main Maxwell manual and the RFRK manual, nothing else. I notice the MW2.1 install also contained Maya and LW plugin manuals, so I'm guessing the Mac version of the 2.5 installer omitted some files. I hope this gets fixed in next MW2.x release.
